Mission Statement

At BXM we believe every young person should have the opportunity to access outdoor education regardless of their geographical location, background or financial situation. This has remained the heart of what we do since we launched in 2010. BXM will always aim to provide the safest and most cost-effective trips whilst always searching for that perfect expedition. In the last few years, BXM have become the largest company of its kind in the UK and revolutionised how the ‘behind the scenes’ work is done. All our expeditions should be kind and friendly.

Who are we

We are a DofE approved activity provider. We work with over 100 schools nationwide and provide over 9,000 young people with the opportunity to take part in life-changing expeditions each year. Our ethos remains at the heart of everything we do. Since 2010, we have worked hard to ensure every young person has the opportunity to access outdoor education, regardless of their geographical location, background or financial situation.

We specialise in a diverse range of expeditions, from The Venture Award to The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

We provide cost-effective and sustainable programs. We focus on delivering a sustainable offering of expeditions with the ability to tailor expeditions to meet every school’s needs.

The BXM team works smart to ensure that all equipment and processes fall in line with our sustainability mission statement. Using tents made from fully recycled materials, empowering young people, running, fun, safe expeditions and looking after the wild spaces in which we work. Working with suppliers to ensure they meet our ethical values and align with our moral compass and changing when things shift is important to us.

Our history

BXM Expeditions was founded in 2010 by an ex-teacher passionate about young people and the great outdoors.
In what started as a very small operation with 12 tents and a collection of stoves stored in a small cupboard, we quickly grew to be one of the largest expedition providers in the country.
We operate nationally and run expeditions in various locations across the UK. Our warehouse team now looks after over 1,000 tents and 350 stoves.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

DofE is the UK’s leading non-academic achievement award for young people aged 14 to 24. The award helps to build character and enrich young people’s lives outside the classroom. We offer cost-effective and ethical expeditions to schools and youth groups nationwide.
